You mean to tell me that no one knows someone who has applied to the program?
I know people who should and would qualify. The thing is that while I may try to be helpful and suggest that they do apply, pride would get in the way of them admitting that they did or that they would even qualify. It just ain't proper to ask someone how much money they make.
Last night's meeting was not so Bad. The Health Insurance debate was the pinnacle of the event. The climax came as one Commissioner stated, "Blount County is as Republican as can be, yet this is beginning to sound like Socialized Medicine!" Honestly, to see a grown man shudder at the suspicion of Socialism is amusing. Note to Neo-Christian, Republican Jesus worshippers: J.C. himself was a hardcore Socialist.
Kudos to Dr. Walker, getting alot done; however, I'm still not sure as to how Public Input will be affected by the dissolution of sub-committees. Dr. Reeves raised several good points, as well, keeping the rest of the folks honest.
The Ms. Ridings catastrophe, made me realize that this could happen to anyone, and she's correct, $100k may re-build her house, if she had a time machine, for it sure wouldn't touch many dwellings at Today's prices. My heart goes out to her and her family's predicament.
Now THAT's something I've never considered before!
Luke 3:10-14
But I don't think you can leave it at just socialism. Jesus enjoyed music and wine, wore sandals, had a beard and cavorted with the "undesirables" - I'm going with liberal socialist.
Ever wonder why most churches are full of conservative capitalist?
I love it.
Though I know I've read that text before, it certainly has a whole new meaning in today's Blount County climate... Especially this part:
Their soldiers were their law enforcement officers, were they not?
Hmmmmmmmm.........
Like telling taxpayers it's not their position to ask where their taxes are being spent, or following people home, or using fake degrees to get better jobs and pay, or breaking peoples arms while in custody, or telling people their children aren't safe at school, or selling the public's property to family at "discount" rates, or using forced "transfers", or telling people their public buildings are not safe enough for them to use.
I guess this only applies to those willing to do the above. Everybody engaged in using force and lies seem to be paying themselves pretty well.
