Highway chief tries four-day week to cut fuel costs

"It's going pretty well," Dunlap said. "It is saving us roughly some $3,500 to $4,000 a day in fuel."

Some things seem obvious. Especially once someone else gets creative and thinks of them first.

I think we talked about this over on KV perhaps? A month ago my hubby was put on mandatory ten hour days with the hope that keeping the company trucks off the road at least one day a week would reduce fuel costs. Watch for all utility companies to review this option.
